Terms & Conditions

Cairns Airport Parking / Betta Airport Parking / BettaCNS operates secured long-term vehicle storage facilities at:

  • 397 Lake Street, North Cairns (including adjoining properties); and
  • 433 Sheridan Street, North Cairns

By making a booking and/or leaving your vehicle with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Bookings & Customer Responsibility

  1. All bookings must be made online.
  2. All booking amendments (including dates, times, flight details and contact information) must be made online.
  3. Verbal instructions, SMS messages or booking notes do not constitute confirmed amendments unless acknowledged by us in writing.
  4. You are solely responsible for ensuring all booking details are accurate and current.

This includes:

  • Drop-off date and time
  • Return date and time
  • Flight number
  • Arrival time
  • Mobile number
  • Email address

We are not responsible for service disruption caused by incorrect or outdated booking information.

2. Storage Location & Vehicle Movements

Your vehicle may be stored at either Lake Street or Sheridan Street facilities.
You expressly authorise us to:

  • Move your vehicle within and between facilities;
  • Drive your vehicle on public roads where required for operational purposes;
  • Reposition your vehicle multiple times during the storage period.

Operational decisions regarding storage location remain at our discretion.

3. Vehicle Eligibility & Restrictions
 

3.1 Fully Electric Vehicles

Fully electric vehicles (EVs) are not accepted.
Hybrid vehicles are accepted.

3.2 Engine Immobilisers & Security Systems

If your vehicle is fitted with:

  • An engine immobiliser;
  • A coded security system;
  • A non-standard starting procedure;
  • A remote disabling device; or
  • Any device that restricts normal operation,

You must notify us at the time of booking and provide all necessary codes, instructions, fobs or devices required to start and operate the vehicle.
We are not responsible for delays or operational issues caused by undisclosed security systems or incorrect information.

3.3 Alcohol Interlock Devices

Vehicles fitted with alcohol interlock or breathalyser start systems are not accepted.

3.4 Vehicle Size & Height Limits

Standard Vehicle
A standard vehicle is up to 5.5 metres in length.
Vehicles exceeding 5.5 metres are classified as oversized and may attract additional charges.

Height Restrictions

  • Covered parking maximum height: 2.1 metres
  • Uncovered parking maximum height: 2.6 metres

It is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle complies with applicable limits at time of booking.

3.5 Covered vs Uncovered Storage

Covered parking is subject to availability and operational constraints.
Where a covered parking option is selected:

  • We will use reasonable efforts to store the vehicle in a covered area.

However, we reserve the right to relocate a vehicle from covered to uncovered where:

  • The physical configuration of the vehicle requires it;
  • Height restrictions apply;
  • Operational or safety requirements require relocation;
  • Covered space becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.

Relocation between covered and uncovered areas does not constitute a breach of contract.
No refund is payable solely due to relocation where reasonably required.

3.6 Prohibited Items

Vehicles must not contain:

  • Gas bottles of any kind;
  • Hazardous or dangerous goods;
  • Any item posing fire or safety risk.

4. Payments

 

4.1 Payment Processing

  • All payments are processed securely via Stripe.
  • We do not store or access full card numbers.
  • Payment details must be updated online prior to processing.

4.2 Payment Timing

Payment is automatically processed approximately 2–3 hours prior to scheduled drop-off.
You are responsible for ensuring valid payment details are on file.

4.3 Cancellation Policy

If you do not use the service, no charge applies.
Refunds:

  • Are processed manually;
  • May take up to 72 hours processing time;
  • May take 5–10 business days for banking institutions to return funds.

We are not responsible for banking delays.
 

5. Pricing & Stay Adjustments

5.1 Rate Structure

Booking totals are calculated based on:

  • Length of stay; and
  • The applicable daily rate tier.

A minimum charge applies.

5.2 Shortened Stays

If your stay is shortened:

  • Charges will be recalculated based on actual stay;
  • Applicable rate tiers may change;
  • Any refund will be processed after collection and booking finalisation.

5.3 Extensions & Ongoing Storage

If your booking is extended or becomes ongoing:

  • Additional storage charges apply;
  • We may process periodic payments to maintain an acceptable outstanding balance.

Failure of payment may delay release of the vehicle.

6. Drifter Bookings

A “Drifter” booking is one where return date and/or time is unconfirmed.

  • A Drifter Management Fee applies.
  • You must update your booking once return details are known.
  • Arriving without confirmed details may result in delays while vehicles are repositioned.

We are not responsible for delays caused by unconfirmed return information.

7. Airport Transfers

Valet airport transfers operate during advertised hours.
We recommend arrival:

  • 1.5 hours before domestic flights;
  • 2.25 hours before international flights.

We are not responsible for missed flights due to insufficient time allowance or circumstances beyond our control.

8. After-Hours Return Procedure

Where return occurs outside standard operating hours:

  • A secure key box system will be used;
  • Access instructions will be sent via SMS and email on the day of arrival;
  • You are responsible for arranging your own transport to our facility.

We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect contact details, network issues or device issues.

9. Keys & Access

  • Keys must be left with us.
  • Keys may be stored on-site or off-site in secure facilities.
  • Keys may be moved between facilities.
  • We are not responsible for keyless entry system failures or battery issues.

10. Third-Party Collection

Vehicles will only be released to:

  • The booking holder; or
  • A properly authorised third party.

Written authorisation is required prior to release.
We may request identification and may refuse release where authorisation is unclear.
We are not responsible for disputes between owners, family members, partners, financiers or other parties.

11. Overdue Vehicles

If a vehicle remains beyond the booked period:

  • Additional daily storage charges apply;
  • Continued storage constitutes acceptance of those charges;
  • We may pursue lawful recovery of unpaid amounts.

12. Incident Management & Repairs

If damage occurs while your vehicle is in our care:

  • We may take reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage;
  • We may arrange assessment or repair without delay;
  • Repairs may be completed prior to your return to minimise inconvenience;
  • Repairs may be managed through our insurer.

We will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable.

13. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are liable only for loss or damage directly caused by our proven negligence.
  • We are not liable for:
    • Vehicle contents;
    • Weather damage;
    • Vandalism beyond our reasonable control;
    • Pre-existing damage;
    • Mechanical failure;
    • Consequential or indirect loss;
    • Loss of use;
    • Travel disruption or missed flights.

Claims must be raised before the vehicle leaves our premises.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law.

14. Operational Delays Beyond Our Control

We are not responsible for disruption due to:

  • Flight delays or diversions;
  • Airport closures;
  • Industrial action;
  • Severe weather;
  • Road closures;
  • Government directives;
  • Events beyond our reasonable control.

15. Acceptance of Terms

By completing a booking, you acknowledge:

  • Your vehicle may be driven and relocated;
  • Your vehicle may be stored at either facility;
  • Your vehicle may be repositioned multiple times;
  • You agree to these Terms & Conditions.
